TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia is participating in the Arabian Travel Market (ATM) Dubai 2025 in the United Arab Emirates, which takes place from April 28 to May 1, 2025, in hopes of attracting more Middle Eastern tourists to visit the country.
Deputy of Marketing at the Ministry of Tourism, Ni Made Ayu Marthini, said Indonesia must ramp up its tourism promotion to achieve the predetermined goals of foreign visits for 2025. According to her, the government has targeted between 14 and 16 million arrivals in the country this year, with 249,000 visits coming from the Middle East region.
"This figure represents a 6.4 percent increase from the previous year, thus requiring accelerated and more intensive promotional activities to help achieve the target,” said Marthini in a press release from the Ministry of Tourism on Monday, April 28, 2025. “One such measure is participating in the ATM Dubai this year."
The number of Middle Eastern tourists in Indonesia reached 224,000 people last year, up 24 percent from the previous year.

Assistant Deputy of International Tourism Marketing III at the Ministry of Tourism, Raden Wisnu Sindhutrisno, said that this event is expected to attract more foreign tourists to Indonesia. He said the Indonesian team is aiming to attract 44,000 potential tourists through the event, especially those from the Middle East region.
"In general, the event is expected to assist in target achievement and aid Indonesia’s post-pandemic economic recovery,” said Wisnu.
During this event, the Ministry of Tourism will also sign an MoU with Qatar Airways on April 28.
Featuring 2,700 exhibitors from 161 countries, the ATM Dubai is the largest international tourism exchange in the Middle East. The 30-year-old event is expected to attract more than 7,000 people this year.
