TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is set to summon Pati Regent Sudewo over allegations of involvement in bribery related to the construction and maintenance of railway tracks at the Directorate General of Railways (DJKA) of the Ministry of Transportation for the 2022-2024 fiscal year. Sudewo is suspected of receiving the bribe for the railway construction.
"Yes, it is true that Sudewo is suspected to have also received a commitment fee for the railway track construction project," said a spokesperson for KPK, Budi Prasetyo, when met at the KPK building in South Jakarta on Wednesday, August 13, 2025.
However, he could not confirm the exact schedule of the summons for Sudewo, as the investigation is underway.
Sudewo was previously mentioned by the former President Director of PT Istana Putra Agung, Dion Renato Sugiarto, during a trial on November 16, 2023. Dion admitted to giving bribes to several officials within the DJKA to secure projects for his company.
Dion also mentioned seven names that helped secure projects at DJKA, or brokers. Among them was Billy Haryanto, or "Billy Beras." According to Dion, Billy Beras claimed to be acquainted with Budi Karya Sumadi.
Second, Agus Kuncoro, known as a close associate of the former Secretary General of the Ministry of Transportation, Djoko Sasono. Third, Ibnu and Edi Amir, who claimed to be close to Budi Karya. Fourth, Sudewo, a member of Commission V of the House of Representatives.
Fifth, Muhammad Suryo, introduced by the former Infrastructure Director of DJKA as a person from the police force. Sixth, Wahyu Purwanto, known to him as the brother-in-law of former President Joko Widodo, and lastly, Commissioner of PT PLN Eko Sulistyo.
