TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Prosecutors have named the former Chief of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, and his two deputies, retired Police Inspector General Sony Sonjaya and retired TNI Lieutenant General Lodewyk Pusung, as suspects in a corruption case involving the mismanagement of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program during the 2025–2026 period.
Syarief Sulaiman Nahdi, the Director of Special Crimes Investigation at the Attorney General's Office, stated that the suspects allegedly approved Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG), or MBG kitchens, that failed to meet standard requirements.
"They were appointed by manipulating verifications on the BGN partner portal under the direct oversight of the suspects," Syarief said at the Attorney General's Office on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Apart from using foundations affiliated with the suspects, investigators suspect that Dadan, Sony, and Lodewyk engaged in unlawful acts regarding the procurement of goods and services at BGN.
According to Syarief, the suspects intervened with commitment-making officials during the drafting of the procurement work reference frameworks, resulting in plans that did not match actual field requirements. "There was also a markup in procurement prices, leading to financial losses that undermined the implementation of the MBG operations," he said.
Syarief explained that several procurement packages, suspected to have been illegally rigged, include the procurement of 21,801 electric motorcycle units valued at around Rp1 trillion and the procurement of 32,000 pairs of shoes. Investigators also uncovered indications of irregularities in the procurement of 31,000 tablets and 5,400 75-inch televisions.
In addition to failing to meet necessary requirements, investigators discovered substantial markups within these procurement projects. "The three suspects are charged under Article 603 and Article 604 of the Criminal Code," Syarief noted.
Syarief stated that investigators are still actively conducting searches across several locations. On Wednesday, investigators raided the BGN headquarters as well as the private residences of the suspects.
