TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Conglomerate Michael Bloomberg met with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Chief Executive Officer Danantara Rosan Roeslani at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday afternoon, November 18, 2025.
Rosan Roeslani revealed that after a three-hour meeting that they discussed many things. "Actually, there were several issues. We talked about it during lunch, and also how to collaborate with Bloomberg, as well as with Danantara, which incidentally will be discussed later," said Rosan as he was heading to his office.
During the lunch meeting, Rosan mentioned that the three of them discussed Indonesia's human resources in terms of education and health. He also shared that Bloomberg discussed his decision to ban smoking in restaurants while he was mayor of New York City.
In addition, Bloomberg also mentioned marine conservation. Rosan said this meeting was a continuation of the meeting between President Prabowo and Michael Bloomberg in New York. "So, this is a meeting where the President invited Michael Bloomberg to come to Indonesia, and he came to Indonesia to then continue to Singapore," he said.
Last September, President Prabowo met with Michael Bloomberg in New York. They discussed a partnership with the global media, data, and financial services company, Bloomberg, to expand opportunities for the people's economy through investments in clean energy and protection of marine resources.
Bloomberg's CEO conveyed the partnership through his social media account on September 23, 2025, after meeting Prabowo in New York. "Indonesian President @prabowo is committed to expanding economic opportunities for his people, including through clean energy investments," wrote Michael Bloomberg's statement, cited from Antara.
The New York-based company also expressed its support for President Prabowo Subianto's commitment to invest in clean energy and protect marine resources.
In the post, Bloomberg shared his excitement about having the opportunity to speak with the Head of State at the United Nations International Conference. "I was glad to speak with him today about how @Bloomberg and @BloombergDotOrg can continue to be a partner in the work ahead," he wrote.
