TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Continuous rainfall from light to heavy intensity triggered flooding in several parts of Jakarta, Indonesia, on Tuesday, November 18, 2025. The downpour, which lasted from morning until late afternoon, inundated three road sections across the capital.

According to the Jakarta Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), flooding was reported on Jalan Srengseng Raya in Srengseng, West Jakarta; Jalan Pondok Karya in Pela Mampang; and Jalan Kemang Utara IX in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta.

Mohamad Yohan, Head of BPBD Jakarta’s Disaster Management Data and Information Center, said the persistent rain over Jakarta and its surrounding areas pushed the Sunter Hulu monitoring post to alert level 3.

“Water levels currently range from 10 to 50 centimeters. This is a result of intense rainfall and the overflow of the Mampang River,” Yohan said in a written statement on Tuesday.

BPBD Jakarta has deployed teams to monitor conditions across affected neighborhoods and coordinate with other agencies. Yohan noted that water pumping efforts and proper drainage management are being prioritized to accelerate the recession of floodwaters.

“We expect the flooding to recede soon,” he said, urging residents to stay cautious and aware of further flood risks.
