The Narcotics Directorate of the National Police's Criminal Investigation Department (Bareskrim Polri) has named AH and JH, the heads of the Whip Pink nitrous oxide (N2O) laughing gas factory, as suspects. Police have charged both individuals in connection with alleged violations of the Health Law.
Bareskrim Polri's Narcotics Director, Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso, stated that the pair are undergoing interrogation at police headquarters. "AH and JH are being questioned for the second time as suspects under Article 435 of Law No. 17/2023 on Health," Eko said in a written statement on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
Bareskrim Polri previously launched an inquiry into the widespread misuse of Whip Pink N2O gas. The gas cylinders were manufactured by PT SSS.
As part of the probe, investigators have questioned at least 41 witnesses. Authorities also arrested nine individuals across three sites in Kemayoran, Central Jakarta; Pulogadung, East Jakarta; and Pademangan, North Jakarta.
Police also interrogated Makassar-based social media influencers identified by their initials ZNM and APG. The two figures drew public scrutiny after a video depicting them inhaling Whip Pink went viral online.
Brigadier General Eko Hadi Santoso noted that the two influencers purchased the laughing gas out of curiosity. "ZNM first consumed it in Bali while vacationing with friends," Eko said in a statement on Friday, June 5, 2026.
Eko added that ZNM reported suffering severe headaches and hallucinations after inhaling the substance. One of ZNM's companions even suffered temporary paralysis following Whip Pink exposure.
Investigators questioned ZNM for six hours at Bareskrim Polri headquarters on Friday, June 5, 2026. During the session, officers pressed the influencer with 30 questions regarding the consumption of Whip Pink gas. Investigators had earlier questioned APG as well.
The questioning of public figures marks a broader expansion of the probe following a raid on PT SSS's Whip Pink manufacturing facility. Following that operation, investigators systematically tracked down frequent buyers and alleged abusers of the gas.
