TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to virtually inaugurate the "Jembatan Merah Putih Presisi" (Red-White Precision Bridges) in several Indonesian regions today, August 13, 2026. The event will take place on Jalan Bayah-Cikotok, Bayah Satu Hamlet, Bayah Barat Village, Bayah District, Lebak Regency, Banten, which is the location of a bridge connecting Bayah Barat Village with Darmasari Village.
"The President will also virtually greet the public attending the inauguration from various regions," said Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi in his statement on Thursday.
The Gerindra Party politician explained that the bridge initiative is one of the Indonesian National Police's efforts to help meet the community's basic infrastructure needs. This also aims at assisting rural communities that have long struggled with limited access.
Prasetyo noted that the Indonesian National Police have independently constructed and revitalized 895 bridges across 30 regional police jurisdictions, covering a total distance of 19.2 kilometers. These bridges connect 1,314 villages and are estimated to benefit approximately two million residents.
"These bridges help open access between villages, improve safety, and ease travel to schools, health facilities, places of worship, and economic centers," Prasetyo said.
The government further commended the Red-White Precision Bridge as an example of mutual cooperation development initiated by the National Police and executed in tandem with the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), local governments, foundations, volunteers, engineers, and local communities.
Prasetyo, who also serves as the Presidential Spokesperson, assessed that the presence of safe and reliable bridges is expected not only to strengthen regional connectivity but also to expand access to education, basic services, and local economies. "This program shows that development can be carried out collaboratively to address the concrete needs of the public, especially in areas that have historically faced limited access," he said.
