TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The case involving the acid attack on Andrie Yunus, Deputy Coordinator of the Commission for Missing Persons and Victims of Violence (KontraS), has implicated Indonesian Military (TNI) personnel assigned to the Strategic Intelligence Agency (Bais). The TNI Military Police Center said it had detained four suspects at the Jayakarta Regional Military Police detention facility in South Jakarta.
The investigation by law enforcement has pointed to suspected coordination among the alleged perpetrators, who are believed to be part of a special task force within TNI's Bais. Police also found what they described as a coordination post suspected to have served as the suspects' base of operations in the Kebayoran Baru area of South Jakarta. The property is a Defense Ministry asset used by Bais.
Tempo journalists sent a letter to TNI Information Center Chief Maj. Gen. Aulia Dwi Nasrullah on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and met him at TNI Headquarters in Cilangkap, East Jakarta, on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. Aulia promised a written response to Tempo's findings on the case but he had not replied as of Friday, March 27, 2026. "My apologies, we are still on the road," he said in a WhatsApp message.
Tempo submitted an interview request to Lt. Gen. Yudi Abrimantyo, the Bais Chief who relinquished his post on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. The interview request was sent to his mobile phone number, but he did not respond.
