TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The tech company Apple is expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) strategy with Apple Intelligence, the latest generation of AI technology that will be available on all of the company's devices, including the iPhone and Vision Pro. This announcement was made at the 2026 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in Cupertino, California.
At the event, the tech giant explained that the new generation of Apple Intelligence not only brings Siri AI, but also various AI capabilities embedded directly in the main applications of the operating system. Users will be able to utilize AI to edit photos, manage multiple tabs in Safari, create visual content through Image Playground, and assist in communication in Messages and Mail.
"Apple products are an essential part of people’s lives, and this year we’re bringing powerful new capabilities to empower our users in even more ways," said Apple's Vice President of Software Engineering, Craig Federighi, as quoted from the company's official website on Monday, June 8, 2026.
In addition, Apple has enhanced Visual Intelligence capabilities so that the devices can understand objects and information displayed through the camera or screen. Behind these services, Apple has introduced the third generation of Apple Foundation Models. These AI models are available in two versions: one that runs directly on the device and one that runs through Private Cloud Compute infrastructure for tasks requiring larger computations.
Apple stated that this approach enables AI features to remain fast while protecting user privacy. They focus their AI development on providing useful, naturally integrated experiences for daily usage. The new generation of Apple Intelligence will be available to users of supported devices when the latest operating system updates are released later this year.
