TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT Kereta Api Indonesia, through Railway Operation Region 3 Cirebon, is offering a 20 percent discount on various classes of train tickets as part of its Independence Day promotion.

According to Muhibbuddin, Public Relations Manager of KAI Daop 3 Cirebon, tickets under this promotional program can be purchased through all KAI sales channels from August 12 to August 17, 2025, for travel on August 17, 2025.

"This promotion is being held to commemorate the 80th Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia," Muhibbuddin said on Monday, August 11, 2025.

He also explained that the Independence Day promotion serves as a token of appreciation for passengers, allowing them to enjoy KAI services at lower prices during this significant national celebration.

Muhibbuddin encouraged the public to make the most of this offer to travel by commercial trains in executive or economy class at promotional rates. Destinations include Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Solo, and other cities. However, he clarified that the discount does not apply to Luxury, Compartment, Priority, Imperial, Panoramic, or other tourist train classes.

Terms and Conditions of the Independence Day Discount Ticket

The terms and conditions for the promotional fare are as follows:

  • Discounted tickets can be purchased through all KAI sales channels from August 12 to 17, 2025, for travel on August 17, 2025.

  • The promotion applies to commercial trains operating on the islands of Java and Sumatra.

  • The discount does not cover Luxury, Compartment, Priority, Imperial, Panoramic, or other tourist trains.

  • It cannot be combined with other promotions or special fares.

  • Discounted tickets are eligible for cancellation and rescheduling, in line with existing regulations.

Track Cushion Replacement

In a related effort to enhance passenger service and comfort, Daop 3 Cirebon is also replacing damaged concrete track cushions across its operational area. Muhibbuddin noted that damaged cushions can affect track stability and compromise passenger comfort. If not addressed promptly, they may lead to a decline in track geometry quality and pose safety risks.

The cushion replacement is not only intended to improve safety but also to enhance comfort, as well-maintained infrastructure helps reduce vibrations and ensures better train stability and speed.
