TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Millions of people took to the streets across the United States (US) and major cities in Europe and Australia on Saturday in the third national 'No Kings' demonstration to reject President Donald Trump's administration. The organizers, as reported by KVAL, estimated that eight million people participated in the protest.

According to Anadolu, the demonstrations were held in all 50 US states and 16 other countries, marking one of the most coordinated protest actions in the country's history.

The organizers, including anti-authoritarian organizations like Indivisible and 50501, labor unions, and grassroots associations, reported that more than 3,000 demonstrations took place across the US.

Local media reported that the previous 'No Kings' protest in October 2025 was attended by 7 million demonstrators across the US.

The demonstrations took place amid a decline in the public's satisfaction with Trump's administration, compounded by frustration expressed by some of his hardcore supporters.

Criticisms highlighted by Trump's opponents in this demonstration included the conflict with Iran resulting in the deaths of 13 US personnel, rising prices of goods and oil, import tariffs affecting daily items, excessive violence by immigration authorities (ICE) resulting in the deaths of civilians and immigrants, and lengthy airport security queues due to budgetary deadlock.

According to the Washington Post, thousands of people gathered in front of the Minnesota State Capitol for the main 'No Kings' protest, described by Indivisible's founder Ezra Levin as the "largest protest in Minnesota history".

Meanwhile, in Washington DC, dozens of Palestinian mothers staged a demonstration in front of the Lincoln Memorial, waving a giant Palestinian flag, as reported by The Guardian.

"Most Americans don’t know that our tax dollars are being used to subsidize violence," said a demonstrator, Hazami Barmada (43), as reported by The Guardian.

"This is happening while many Americans can’t afford housing, milk, school or healthcare. Prices continue to go up as we are fighting Israel’s wars," Barmada said.

Meanwhile, CNN reported rival demonstrations at various points, such as in West Palm Beach, Florida, where around 50 Trump supporters wearing 'Proud Boys' caps confronted 'No Kings' demonstrators.

The 'No Kings' coalition stressed that their protests were non-violent, with all forms of weapons prohibited and leaders trained in conflict de-escalation.

In the first 'No Kings' protest in June 2025, a demonstrator was killed and another was injured by a 50501 volunteer who fired his weapon after seeing someone carrying a firearm during the protest in Salt Lake City, Utah.
