TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Chinese government has proposed international collaboration in the field of AI+ (artificial intelligence plus) at the high-level meeting of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) held by the United Nations (UN) on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. Quoting Antara, the initiative promotes deep integration of AI into global economic and social development.
In the initiative unveiled by the Chinese government, AI represents not only technological advancement but also systematic and comprehensive transformation with profound implications. AI+ also plays a significant role in advancing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the UN.
All countries under the UN umbrella are encouraged to proactively implement the AI+ campaign in the fields of public welfare, technological advancement, industrial application, cultural prosperity, and talent development. The AI+ campaign will be tailored to each country's conditions, and lawmakers in each country are asked to share best practices and solutions with each other.
Among the five substances in this campaign, 'AI+ public well-being' is the most prominent, as AI is used to improve public services and provide everyday solutions. The Chinese government claims that the AI+ design has been tailored to scenarios that promote quality development in various sectors.
According to China Daily, on Friday, September 26, 2025, this initiative also emphasizes industrial applications, ensuring that AI is not only innovative but also capable of raising cross-sector productivity. Artificial intelligence is considered capable of maintaining industrial chain and supply stability, driving sustainable innovation flow, and generating more dividends.
At the same time, cultural prosperity must be maintained. Many AI systems are currently trained with English language data, thus creating representation imbalances. Collaboration between countries under the UN can promote AI applications that honors different languages, traditions, and cultural contexts.
