TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Manpower Ministry will enforce mandatory reporting of job vacancies for all companies starting in 2026. This policy applies to private companies, SOEs, and regional-owned enterprises, and the reporting will be done through the "Karirhub" (career hub) channel on the ministry's SIAPkerja platform.
"Currently, it is still in the advisory stage. But next year, we will firmly enforce it; it's time to make it mandatory," said the Head of the Labor Market Center of the Manpower Ministry, Surya Lukita Warman, during a media briefing at the ministry's Manpower Market building, Jakarta, on Friday, September 26, 2025.
Surya stated that the provision is based on Presidential Regulation Number 57 of 2023 concerning Mandatory Reporting of Job Vacancies (WLLP). The regulation requires employers to report their labor needs and how they place workers.
Surya further mentioned that the government will impose sanctions on companies that fail to report job vacancies. The sanctions will range from written warnings to administrative penalties. "For example, if a company wants to obtain certain permits, they must fulfill the WLLP obligation first," said Surya.
According to Surya, this policy aims to speed up the hiring process by connecting job seekers and employers on an official platform. Karirhub not only facilitates access for the public but also serves as the government's database to monitor labor market developments and the unemployment rate in Indonesia.
"In the future, all job seekers will be centralized in Karirhub. As a result, the labor market data can be more integrated and clear," he said.
Manpower Ministry noted that there are currently around 10 million Indonesians in need of employment. This figure includes 3.5 million recent graduates who have just entered the labor market and 7 million people who have not yet found employment.
"This does not include those affected by layoffs or who have resigned. So, if accumulated, the number is around 10 million people," he added.
