TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The latest report on Sunday, August 10, 2025, stated that the Israeli attacks in the Gaza Strip had killed at least 39 Palestinian civilians. As reported by Al Jazeera, the Gaza Health Ministry recorded a total death toll since the war began in October 2023, reaching 61,430, while 153,213 others were injured.

The ministry stated that many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the streets, while rescue teams are unable to reach them. In addition to the casualties from the attacks, the starvation due to Israel's aid restrictions has also claimed the lives of 217 people, including 100 children.

Most of the deaths from malnutrition occurred in the past few weeks, despite Israel's claim to have briefly eased the total blockade at the end of May. Furthermore, in the last 24 hours, five individuals, including two children, were reported to have died from starvation.

Deadly Airdrop

A day earlier, a Palestinian teenager, 15-year-old Muhannad Zakaria Eid, was killed by an aid package dropped from the air near Netzarim Corridor, Central Gaza. Al Jazeera verified footage showing locals trying to save him before he was taken to Al-Awda Hospital in Nuseirat.

Eid's brother stated that his brother died after a relief box fell directly on him. "Despite the famine and the hard conditions that we live in, my brother went to get aid that was dropped into the sea by [aero]planes. A box fell on him directly and he was martyred," he said.

He accused the country of dropping the aid, which made it responsible for the deaths of civilians. "They [the countries involved in the airdrops] cannot enter the aid through the crossing but they drop them over us and kill our children. A kid was killed in [az-]Zawayda and here and there, and nobody feels us," he added.

The Gaza Government Media Office reported that at least 23 people died and 124 others were injured due to aid drops since October 2023. "We have repeatedly warned of the danger of these inhumane methods and have repeatedly called for the entry of aid through land crossings in a safe and sufficient manner, especially food, infant milk, medicines, and medical supplies," they stated.

Attacks While Waiting for Aid

According to Anadolu reports, in the last 24 hours, 35 Palestinians were killed and more than 304 were wounded in Israeli attacks while they were waiting for aid. Since May 27, the total death toll while seeking aid has reached 1,778, with 12,894 others injured.

Most recently, Israel's plan to seize the city of Gaza and force nearly one million residents to flee has sparked international condemnation. The UN Security Council is scheduled to hold a weekend session to discuss the plan. Protests have also taken place in various major cities, ranging from Buenos Aires, London to Istanbul, demanding that world leaders stop the war in Gaza.
