TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Shakira and Burna Boy's collaboration "Dai Dai" and Oasis' "Wonderwall" have risen on Billboard's global charts after gaining popularity amid the 2026 FIFA World Cup hype.
As ANTARA reported, "Dai Dai" topped the Billboard Global 200 thanks to 43 million streams, a four percent increase from the previous week, and 5,000 sales, a five percent decrease during the tracking week of July 10-16.
Billboard reported on Monday, July 20, that "Dai Dai" has been designated as the official song of the 2026 World Cup and has led the global charts outside the United States with 36.7 million streams, down one percent from the previous week, and 4,000 sales, down three percent during the tracking week.
Oasis' classic 90s hit "Wonderwall" saw a sharp rise in the global charts due to the impact of the same football tournament. The single rose from 26th to fourth on the Billboard Global 200 chart and from 21st to fourth on global charts outside the U.S.
The increase was driven by a 64 percent surge in streaming, reaching 35 million streams, and a 78 percent surge in sales, 4,000 units worldwide. This was fueled by the enthusiasm of fans of the England men's national football team, who used the song as a cheering chant in stadiums during matches. The song, first released in 1996, previously reached number eight on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the U.S.
The competition at the top of the global charts was also colored by the presence of Ariana Grande's song "Hate That I Made You Love Me," which remained in second place after having held the number one spot for two consecutive weeks in June.
Ella Langley's single "Choosin' Texas" also maintained its peak number three position, while Michael Jackson's legendary hit "Billie Jean" fell from number four to number five on the Billboard Global 200 chart.
On the global charts, K-pop group BTS's single "Swim" reached number two, where it has held the position for eight weeks since April, followed by Ariana Grande's "Hate That I Made You Love Me" at number three, while Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj's collaboration "Beauty and a Beat" remained unchanged at number five after leading the chart in May.
