TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Iran continues to attack several targets of the United States in the Middle East. On Tuesday night, March 3, 2026, attacks were reported to have occurred at the Washington embassy in Dubai and a port in the city of Fujairah in the United Arab Emirates.
Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said all personnel have been confirmed to be safe after missile and drone attacks launched by Iran in the past few days. "A drone, unfortunately, struck a parking lot adjacent to the chancellery building and set off a fire in that place," Rubio told reporters on Tuesday afternoon, as quoted from Time.
He said that the U.S. has withdrawn its personnel to the minimum level amid increasing retaliatory attacks from Iran. "So, we've been very fortunate, obviously, but our embassies and our diplomatic facilities are under direct attack from a terroristic regime," said Rubio.
The Dubai government media office stated on social media that the fire caused by the drone-related incident near the consulate had been successfully controlled and then extinguished. There were no reports of injuries, according to the office.
In addition to Dubai, attacks also occurred at the U.S. Embassy in the capital of Saudi Arabia, Riyadh. Two drones struck the embassy, causing a fire.
An attack on the U.S. Embassy on Tuesday morning caused "minor material damage" to the complex, according to the Saudi Ministry of Defense in a statement quoted by Al Jazeera. Further reports mentioned that Iran launched more drones across the Gulf in response to U.S.-Israeli attacks.
Black smoke was seen billowing over the Diplomatic Quarter in Riyadh, which is the residence of foreign diplomatic missions, after the attack. Three people claimed to have heard a loud explosion and seen flames at the embassy. The embassy building was empty at the time of the attack, so there were no reports of casualties.
Meanwhile, the state-owned news agency Oman News Agency reported that a fuel tank at the commercial port of Duqm in the country was struck by a drone, causing limited material damage and no casualties. Iran denied attacking Oman, as reported by the Iranian government media. Oman has been hit by several attacks, including one on Sunday involving two drones that injured a migrant worker.
