TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has been nominated for the 2026 Ballon d'Or "Coach of the Year" award.
The Spanish coach was nominated after his undeniable performance in leading Les Parisiens to the 2025/2026 Champions League title.
The former Spanish national team coach will face stiff competition from current Spanish national team coach Luis de la Fuente, who achieved a brilliant record after leading La Roja to the 2026 World Cup title.
With this golden achievement, de la Fuente is certainly a strong candidate for the Ballon d'Or best coach award.
In addition to these two names, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also nominated.
The Spanish coach directed the Gunners' success in winning the 2025/2026 Premier League title.
Arteta was also able to guide Kai Havertz and his teammates to the 2025/2026 Champions League final.
Another name is Unai Emery, who led Aston Villa to victory in the 2025/2026 Europa League. This achievement earned the Spanish coach a nomination for best coach of the year.
Finally, Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany has also been shortlisted for the award, as the Belgian coach led Harry Kane and his teammates to secure the Bundesliga title.
As reported by the Ballon d'Or website on Tuesday, here are the nominees for the 2026 men's coach of the year:

- Vincent Kompany (Bayern Munich)
- Luis Enrique (Paris Saint-Germain)
Meanwhile, the nominees for women's coach of the year at the 2026 Ballon d'Or, citing Sports Illustrated, are as follows:
- Jonatan Giráldez (OL Lyonnes)
- Andrée Jeglertz (Manchester City)
- Nils Nielsen (Japan National Team)
- Pere Romeu (Barcelona)
- Elena Sadiku (Celtic/BK Häcken)
