TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned toll road operator PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk reported that 196,901 vehicles returned to Greater Jakarta on Monday, May 12, 2025, at the end of the Vesak holiday. The figure reflects combined traffic volumes from four toll gates: Cikampek Utama, Kalihurip Utama, Cikupa, and Ciawi.

"The total volume of return traffic to the Jabotabek area rose by 50.08 percent compared to normal levels," Lisye Octaviana, Jasa Marga's corporate communication and community development group head, said in a written statement on Tuesday, May 13.

The majority of vehicles returned from the east; Trans Java and Bandung, totaling 97,006, or 49.3 percent. This includes 43,930 vehicles entering through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta-Cikampek Toll Road and 53,076 via Kalihurip Utama on the Cipularang Toll Road.

Another 47,379 vehicles, or 26.7 percent, returned from the west via the Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang–Merak Toll Road. The remaining 52,516 vehicles, or 24.1 percent, came from the Puncak area through the Ciawi Toll Gate on the Jagorawi Toll Road.

Lisye urged motorists to plan their journeys carefully before entering toll roads. She advised drivers to ensure both vehicles and drivers are in good condition and to check fuel levels and electronic toll balances.

"Use rest areas if you feel tired. Obey traffic signs and follow instructions from road personnel," she said.
