TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A letter from Commission XIII of the House of Representatives arrived at the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) in the third week of November 2025. It contained an invitation for a meeting between Komnas HAM Commissioners and the House commission overseeing human rights, scheduled for November 25. On the day of the meeting, eight commissioners were at different cities.
Komnas HAM Chair Anis Hidayah and two other commissioners, Atnike Nova Sigiro and Uli Parulian Sihombing, were in Bandung, West Java. They were members of the Ad Hoc Team for the Investigation of Gross Human Rights Violations in the Murder of Munir Said Thalib, which was preparing the final report on Munir’s death.
Komnas HAM Deputy Chair Prabianto Mukti Wibowo and Commissioner for Education and Counseling Abdul Haris Semendawai said there was an invitation from the House for a hearing. But Prabianto and Haris could not attend because they were on official duty outside the city. “The invitation was for a hearing,” Prabianto told Tempo on Thursday, December 18.
From Bandung, Anis, Atnike, and Uli traveled to Jakarta. Komnas HAM Commissioner Pramono Ubaid Tanthowi joined them in the meeting room of Commission XIII at the House. They were received by Commission XIII Chair Willy Aditya, accompanied by Gerindra Party politician Sugiat Santoso and National Awakening Party (PKB) Faction member Mafirion.
