TEMPO.CO, Jakarta The Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) plans to launch its Gold Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) on August 10, 2026, coinciding with the 49th anniversary of the Indonesian capital market.

IDX Development Director Idiing Pardi revealed that currently there are fewer than 10 Exchange Members (AB) that are ready to issue Gold ETF products.

"Later, Insha Allah, it will be launched on the capital market's anniversary, August 10, 2026. Hopefully, please pray for it," said Iding when met by media crews at the IDX Building, Jakarta, Thursday, as ANTARA reported.

IDX President Director Jeffrey Hendrik explained that regulations for the Gold ETF have been issued and have received approval from the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI). He revealed that seven Investment Managers (MIs) have submitted applications for preliminary agreements to list Gold ETFs, as an initial step towards issuing the product.

"For its issuance, currently seven investment managers have submitted preliminary applications for listing agreements with the Indonesia Stock Exchange for Gold ETFs," said Jeffrey.

In line with this, the Chairperson of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Friderica Widyasari Dewi alias Kiki has submitted a proposal to provide incentives for new products in the financial services sector to the Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto in their meeting on Tuesday, July 14. One of the incentive requests is for the Gold ETF.

For your information, a Gold ETF is an investment instrument in the form of a mutual fund traded on a stock exchange, with gold as its underlying asset. Through this product, investors can gain exposure to gold price movements without having to purchase or store physical gold directly.
