TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto announced that the government will officially launch the “Siap Kerja” national internship program on October 15, 2025, with registration opening on the same day.

“The Siap Kerja platform will be activated on October 15, 2025,” Airlangga said at the Presidential Palace complex in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

According to Airlangga, registration will follow an on-demand system, allowing university students and recent graduates to apply directly through the platform. Applicant data will be automatically integrated with records from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, enabling companies to cross-check profiles.

Ahead of the launch, the government is finalizing partnerships with participating companies, including both state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and private firms.

These companies are currently inputting their requirements into the Siap Kerja platform. Once applications open, selected candidates will be placed accordingly.

Accepted participants will receive monthly stipends equivalent to the provincial minimum wage (UMP), which will be disbursed through accounts at state-owned banks.

Airlangga emphasized that the program is primarily designed for fresh graduates, defined as those who have completed their degree within the past year.

“The program is being finalized with the Ministry of Research and Technology. Eligible participants are graduates within a maximum of one year, so they are truly fresh graduates,” he said after a limited cabinet meeting on September 16, 2025.

The government aims to enroll 20,000 participants in the first phase, targeting graduates from undergraduate (S1) and diploma (D3) programs or equivalent. Internships will run for six months across the industrial sector, with placements facilitated through cooperation between universities and businesses.

“All companies, whether state-owned or private, are welcome to take part. The program is designed to strengthen collaboration between higher education institutions and industry,” Airlangga said.
