TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State Elementary School (SDN) Srengseng Sawah 15 Pagi in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, received a bomb threat on the first day of the 2026-2027 academic year.
Jagakarsa Police Chief Commissioner Nurma Dewi stated that teams from the Gegana bomb disposal unit and the Densus 88 counterterrorism squad arrived to verify the credibility of the threat. "It is still under investigation," she said in Jakarta on Monday, July 13, 2026, as quoted by Antara.
The bomb threat initially circulated among the teachers.
Nurma noted that the police received the report at 7:30 a.m. At the time, the teachers and students were participating in the school environment orientation day, or locally known as MPLS.
Once the officers arrived, they evacuated all teachers and students from the school.
On-site observations showed three armed Brimob personnel guarding the school premises alongside two Gegana vehicles.
