TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto arrived at Schiphol International Airport, Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, after attending the United Nations General Assembly and a visit to Canada.

The head of state's entourage arrived around 09:45 local time. Prabowo is expected to receive an official welcome from Dutch King Willem-Alexander at the Huis ten Bosch Palace.

Upon arrival at Schipol Airport, President Prabowo was welcomed by the Aide-de-Camp (ADC) of the Dutch King, Lieutenant Colonel Jol Postma, the Head of Visits and Events of the Protocol and House Country Department, Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Bob Aal, Indonesian Ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands Mayerfas, and Defense Attach of the Indonesian Embassy in The Hague, Navy Colonel (P) Rikrik Permadi Sobana.

According to a statement from the Presidential Secretariat, the official welcoming procession was carried out by a line of honor guards. Two honor guards stood at the end of the aircraft stairs, while the other eight lined up neatly on the right side of the red carpet. They paid their respects to President Prabowo and escorted him to the vehicle.

The head of state traveled in a Cadillac limousine owned by the Dutch royal family, which is specifically used for state duties or official visits. This vehicle is usually kept at the Royal Stables in the Noordeinde Palace area in The Hague and is only used for high-level events.

President Prabowo's visit to the Netherlands marks an effort to strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in strategic areas. The meeting with the Dutch King is expected to strengthen friendship and expand strategic cooperation opportunities between the two countries.

President Prabowo had previously departed from Ottawa Macdonald-Cartier International Airport, Ottawa, Canada, after completing a series of state visits in Canada. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya accompanied President Prabowo.

During his meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney at West Block on Parliament Hill in Ottawa on September 24, 2025, Prabowo referred to Canada as a responsible and mature Western power that has a deep understanding of global development issues.

"Canada is always present in many poverty alleviation programs, health assistance, agriculture, and fisheries," Prabowo said after the meeting.

Prabowo and Carney were also present at the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Indonesia and Canada. Indonesia and Canada signed three major agreements addressing trade, defense, and business connections.

The first agreement was the signing of the Indonesia-Canada Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (ICA CEPA) by the Indonesian Minister of Trade and the Canadian Minister of International Trade.

Second was the signing of an MoU between Indonesia's Ministry of Defense and Canada's Department of National Defense regarding cooperation in the defense sector. This agreement supplements the memorandum of understanding signed in August 2025, expanding the scope of defense cooperation between the two countries. This includes Canada's participation in the Super Garuda Shield exercise, regular defense dialogues, and long-term military industry strengthening.

The third was the MoU on Cooperation in Commerce, Trade, and Investment by the Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and the Chair of the Business Council of Canada (BCC) on Cooperation in Commerce, Trade, and Investment.
