TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – Rock icons 'System of a Down' and 'Faith No More' have confirmed a long-awaited joint tour of Australia and New Zealand, marking System of a Down's first performances in the region in more than a decade.
According to Rolling Stone, the announcement followed a series of cryptic promotional stunts last week. On Friday, July 24, murals featuring System of a Down's signature hand symbol appeared in Melbourne and Sydney, while Faith No More's iconic logo was projected onto a building in Brisbane. The teasers were later revealed to promote a four-city stadium tour scheduled for January and February 2027.
The tour will visit Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Wellington, with Faith No More joining System of a Down as special guests at every stop.
General ticket sales begin on Friday, July 31, with staggered release times across the tour destinations. A PayPal First Access pre-sale will open on July 29, while artist pre-sales for fans subscribed to the bands' mailing lists begin on July 28.
The upcoming concerts will be System of a Down's first Australian shows since appearing at the now-defunct Soundwave Festival in 2012. The band recently completed a European and UK tour after performing at Las Vegas' Sick New World Festival in April.
Reviewing one of the band's recent performances, Rolling Stone noted that although many of System of a Down's songs carry political themes, the group largely allowed its music to convey its message.
"Guitarist Daron Malakian did mention the band's different beliefs and encouraged the crowd not to let the media divide them," the magazine wrote, describing the performance as an emotional and unifying experience highlighted by renditions of songs such as "B.Y.O.B.," "Hypnotize," and "Chop Suey."
Faith No More will also return to Australia for the first time since 2015, when the band performed during the final edition of the Soundwave Festival.
