TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The famous indie band from Jakarta, White Shoes and The Couples Company, collaborated with the musical group Les Tropicales Combo in the event Soundrenaline 2025: Sana-Sini in Jakarta on the stage of Taman Kota Peruri, South Jakarta, Indonesia, on Sunday, December 21, 2025.
The indie-pop band opened their stage performance with an approximately two-minute intro, until vocalist Aprilia Apsari entered the stage and headed to her microphone. The song "Senja Menggila" was then sung with brass section accompaniment and percussion from Les Tropicales Combo.
Then they performed "Windu & Defrina" which was released in their first album in 2005. After that, the stage performance continued with a song titled "Roman Ketiga" and followed by a song titled "Oktober".
Afterwards, White Shoes and The Couples Company greeted the audience at the Taman Kota Peruri stage. They also asked the audience where they were from, and most of them answered from the Jabodetabek area.
The song "Ye Good Ol' Days" from their second album released in 2010 was presented to the audience. Apsari and her friends didn't stop there, as they continued to play the song "1000 Tahun Lagi" whose lyrics were adapted from various poems by Chairil Anwar.
The two music groups on stage took a moment to let drummer John Navid and Niko, who played the Sundanese kendang, showcase their skills. After that, the modern and traditional percussion sounds were followed by regional songs "Lembe-Lembe" and "Tam-Tam Buku", as in 2015, White Shoes and The Couples Company released a mini album covering regional songs.
Then before the end of their stage performance, they performed a song from the 2020 album titled "Hey Waktu! Kau Kalah!". "We're reaching the end of our performance together. We will perform two more songs, hopefully we can meet again and all of you will continue to take care of each other and until we meet again," said Apsari.
They then performed their equally popular songs such as "Selangkah ke Seberang" and "Masa Remaja". The audience, who thought the performance was over, was surprised with an encore song titled "Aksi Kucing" originally performed by musician Nien Lesmana in 1958.
