
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The bilateral meeting between President Prabowo Subianto and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has yielded 16 agreements. During the session held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, a series of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between the two nations.
"We are confident that these agreements can be implemented promptly to provide real results and benefits for the people of both countries," President Prabowo said in a joint statement alongside Modi.
One key cooperation document was physically exchanged in the presence of Prabowo and Modi. The accord finalized was a partnership between the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indian Space Research Organisation. This agreement includes extensive cooperation in space research.
Indonesia and India also announced 15 additional documents covering collaboration across several strategic sectors, spanning defense, energy, health, culture, and technology. The following is the complete list:
1. Agreement on Space Research Cooperation between the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indian Space Research Organisation;
2. Protocol Extension of the Memorandum of Understanding on Maritime Safety and Security Cooperation;
3. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Disaster Management;
4. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Minerals and Technologies for the Steel Supply Chain;
5. Implementing Arrangement (IA) on Health Workforce Collaboration;
6. Letter of Intent for the Conservation and Restoration of Prambanan Temple Complex, Indonesia;
7. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Telecommunications Technologies and Services;
8. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Medical Products Regulation;
9. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Agriculture;
10. Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the field of Management and Technology Utilization in Elections;
11. Memorandum of Understanding on Research, Technology, and Innovation Cooperation;
12. Contract Signing for BrahMos Missile Defence System between BrahMos and the Ministry of Defence;
13. Air-to-Air Missile Cooperation Agreement between Bharat Dynamics and Republikorp;
14. Memorandum of Understanding between Non-Ferrous Materials Technology Development Centre (NFTDC), Midwest Ltds., and PT. Perusahaan Mineral Nasional (PERMINAS);
15. Strategic Joint Venture between Steel Authority of India (SAIL) and PT. Krakatau Steel; and
16. Memorandum of Understanding between Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and PT. Intelegensi Grahatama.
