TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto returned to Jakarta after completing his state visit to Paris, France, on May 27-29, 2026.
At Orly Airport in Paris on Friday local time, Garuda Indonesia flight PK-GIF took off for the Halim Perdanakusuma Air Force Base in Jakarta. President Prabowo was accompanied by a limited delegation on his flight to Jakarta, including Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
In an official statement, as quoted by ANTARA, the Presidential Secretariat explained that President Prabowo's return at Orly Airport was accompanied by a military ceremony. He received a military salute from honor guards standing on the left and right sides of the red carpet.
Meanwhile, the President was greeted at Orly Airport by Eleonore Caroit, Minister for Francophone Affairs, International Partnerships, and French Citizens Abroad, and General Loic Mizon, Military Governor of Paris. Caroit accompanied President Prabowo along the red carpet to the top of the aircraft's steps.
Then, other officials who saw off President Prabowo, including the French Ambassador to Indonesia Fabien Penone, the Indonesian Ambassador to France Mohamad Oemar, and the Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Paris, TNI Air Marshal Hendra Gunawan.
"The farewell ceremony was held in a solemn atmosphere as a form of respect from the French Government for the Indonesian Head of State," read the official press release from the Presidential Secretariat.
As part of his state visit to Paris, President Prabowo began his state agenda by attending a state welcoming ceremony at Les Invalides and a bilateral meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace.
President Prabowo then attended a state dinner hosted by President Macron at the Salle des Fetes, Elysee Palace. During his state visit, President Prabowo also performed Eid al-Adha prayers with Indonesian citizens and members of the Indonesian diaspora at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris.
