Indonesian Police Raid 12 Locations in Sumatra Blackout Probe

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – A joint team from the Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police and the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate (Ditreskrimsus) of the Jakarta Metro Police simultaneously conducted searches at 12 locations in the investigation of alleged corruption, money laundering, and bribery in three cases on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. The three cases include the PT Asabri case, corruption in coal supply causing a blackout in Sumatra, and the PT Krakatau Steel case.

"There are several locations being searched simultaneously," said the Head of Public Relations Division of the Jakarta Metro Police, Grand Commissioner Budi Hermanto, on Wednesday, July 8, 2026.

Here is the list of 12 locations that were raided:

  1. PT CBS, East Cengkareng, West Jakarta (ongoing).
  2. PT CBS Headquarters, Penjaringan, North Jakarta (ongoing).
  3. PT KNI, South Petojo, Central Jakarta (ongoing).
  4. MN's House, North Serpong, South Tangerang (ongoing).
  5. Cafe de'Clan Signature, Cipete, South Jakarta (completed).
  6. Koin Money Changer, South Cipete, South Jakarta (completed).
  7. TK's House, Mega Kuningan, South Jakarta (ongoing).
  8. DMG/CP Group Office, Kuningan, South Jakarta (ongoing).
  9. PT PML, Karet Kuningan, South Jakarta (ongoing).
  10. DR's House, South Gandaria, South Jakarta (ongoing).
  11. MILDK's House at Pacific Place Apartment (ongoing).
  12. House in Sentul, Bogor Regency (ongoing).

From Cafe de'Clan Signature, the police seized money worth around Rp60 billion. The money consisted of SGD3,130,000, US$889,965, and Rp259 million. Investigators found all the money inside a safe on the second floor of the cafe.In addition, the police also searched a money changer located right next to the cafe. From that location, the investigators seized money worth around Rp7.2 billion.

The Corruption Eradication Task Force (Kortastipidkor) of the Indonesian National Police, together with the Jakarta Metro Police, also conducted a search at a house in Parahyangan Golf 2, Sentul, Bogor Regency. From a safe in the house, the police seized evidence worth around Rp476 billion.

The Head of the Corruption Eradication Task Force, Inspector General Totok Suharyanto, said these seven suitcases contained 74 kilograms of gold and cash amounting to US$4,767,300. The police also found money amounting to 14,083,800 Singapore dollars (SGD) and Rp100 million. According to Totok, the total value of the evidence found reached around Rp476 billion.

As of now, the police have not named any suspects in these cases. The search operations are still ongoing at several locations.
