TEMPO.COJakarta - Commission III of the House of Representatives, which oversees legal affairs, has formed a working committee to monitor the handling of corruption allegations involving former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes Febrie Adriansyah. Commission Chair Habiburokhman said the case warrants special attention because of its scale.

Habiburokhman, who claimed to have initiated the working committee, said its purpose is to ensure proper law enforcement. “Our objective is to ensure the rule of law prevails and to prevent friction between institutions,” he said. Why did Commission III form a working committee for the Febrie Adriansyah case?

It is part of our swift response to the handling of the Febrie case. Our objective is to ensure the rule of law prevails and prevent friction between institutions. We are also giving this case special attention.

Who initiated it?

The initiative came from me and my colleagues in Commission III. Our presence at the handover of the case files from the police to the prosecutors was also my initiative.
