TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Nanik Sudaryati Deyang has resigned from her post as the head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), after only 45 days in office. Deputy Minister of Agriculture Sudaryono is rumored to be her replacement.
Nanik announced her resignation on Facebook. She expressed gratitude for having assisted President Prabowo Subianto in the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) program after supporting him for over a decade.
"Fourteen years with him, I know for a fact that the MBG program is not for political purposes as accused by some people," she wrote on Wednesday, July 22, 2026.
In her post, Nanik hinted at the identity of her successor as the Head of BGN: it would be someone she has a close relationship with, someone she considers a younger sibling. "Someone I can reprimand if any violation occurs," she stated.
Tempo's source at BGN revealed that Nanik's replacement is Sudaryono, who currently serves as the Deputy Minister of Agriculture. Like Nanik, Sudaryono is also known for his long-standing affiliation with Prabowo.
Sudaryono is recognized as Prabowo's former personal assistant before serving in the Gerindra Party and the government.
Aside from his cabinet position, Sudaryono also holds a position outside the government. He is the Chair of the Indonesian Farmers Unity Association (HKTI) for the 2025-2030 period, a position previously held by Prabowo.
Tempo attempted to confirm Sudaryono's appointment as the head of BGN with the Deputy Minister of Agriculture. However, the Gerindra Party's top figure has not responded to messages sent to his number via a messaging application.
Tempo also tried to reach Nanik via her WhatsApp number, as well as the Deputy Head of BGN and spokesperson, Agustina Arumsari. However, there has been no response from either camp by the time this article was written and published.
